Al Feit has been a member of Watkins Meegan’s Tax Group since 1981. He counsels clients on present and future tax requirements, current and prospective changes in tax laws, and IRS positions on controversial tax issues. He closely follows and reports on new and pending legislation that may affect the firm’s clients, and he is involved in most of the firm’s tax controversy work.
Al works as a consultant to attorneys on the tax implications of business transactions such as mergers, liquidations and tax-free exchanges. In addition, he assists clients with year-end tax planning in order to minimize their tax liability, supervises the preparation of individual, corporate, and partnership income tax returns, and provides tax advice in a variety of income tax cases.
Prior to joining the firm, Al spent 12 years as an IRS agent, and he currently serves as one of the firms’s most experienced IRS liaisons. His background as a tax attorney and a Certified Public Accountant enables him to work closely with the firm’s clients by coordinating both tax and accounting issues.
