Chris Wedding joined Watkins Meegan in 2005 after working in private industry for 13 years. In his current role, he manages a wide variety of accounting and tax engagements. Chris has experience in performing all the functions in corporate accounting including financial audits, tax return preparation, banking and insurance. He also has several years experience working in accounting and systems and served as a corporate controller for a large start-up company before joining the firm.
Chris is actively involved in new business development activities for the firm and he provides consulting services to several private companies and not-for-profit organizations. His responsibilities include providing accounting services related to period- and year-end closings, revenue recognition, budgeting and forecasting, business process design and improvement and systems implementation. He also has several years of experience implementing large financial Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems for large and small organizations.
Before joining Watkins Meegan, Chris successfully built an accounting department from the ground up and has first-hand knowledge and insight about what is required in an accounting department within an organization. He is very knowledgeable in compliance with federal and state business requirements and is capable of ensuring that all federal and state requirements and deadlines are met. Chris has led systems implementation teams in developing and implementing new financial systems in large publicly traded and private organizations. His software experience includes Peoplesoft, Microsoft Dynamics NAV (formerly Navision), Microsoft Dynamics GP (formerly Great Plains), JD Edwards, QuickBooks and ADP Payroll, as well as the Microsoft Office Suite.
