Kirk Cranford is the member-in-charge of the firm’s Annapolis office. He has extensive experience serving a diverse group of clients ranging from small emerging-growth companies to mature corporations and national trade and professional organizations.
As a member of the firm’s private company services group, Kirk provides audit, accounting and tax services to his clients. He also offers expertise in business advisory services, personal and business financial planning, exempt organization issues and general and government contracting. Kirk maintains a personal role in each of his client engagements, and he stresses the importance of a proactive team approach. By working closely with clients to evaluate their individual needs, Kirk assists in the development of goals and implementation of the specific steps necessary to achieve them. In addition to client work, Kirk is very active within the firm and the Annapolis office. He has authored many tax-related articles and blogs and often presents or moderates firm lunch and learns. He also believes in continuing education for the growth of the firm and is consistently planning and teaching classes.
Prior to joining Watkins Meegan in 2000, Kirk was a principal in two other Maryland-based accounting firms, Callow, Machen & Cranford and Farren & Cranford. In addition to being a certified public accountant, he is a also a certified financial planner.
