Phil Aldridge is a Manager in Watkins Meegan’s Not-For-Profit Group.  He has more than 15 years of experience in public accounting.  In addition to being a Certified Public Accountant, Phil is a Certified Internal Auditor.  He assists corporations in the development and implementation of their Sarbanes-Oxley 404 compliance plan, including documentation of internal controls, evaluation of design and effectiveness, preparation of audit test plans, test implementation and evaluation of results.

 

Additionally, Phil is a certified implementer of the Microsoft Dynamics NAV (formerly Navision) accounting software package. He also has served in various outsourced accounting positions including accounting manager, controller and CFO on an interim basis for some of the firm’s for-profit and not-for-profit outsourcing clients.

 

Prior to joining the firm in 1999, Phil worked as an accounting manager for a national not-for-profit, where he was responsible for all of the accounting functions including financial statement preparation and presentations to the finance committee of the organization’s board of directors. He also acted as the client liaison in an Internal Revenue Service examination involving the organization’s Political Action Committee.  Phil began his career at a regional public accounting firm performing audits and providing consulting services to not-for-profit clients.

Phil is a graduate of the University of Maryland where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Institute of Internal Auditors, the Greater Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Izaak Walton League of America.
