Louise Peabody has more than 25 years of experience in public and private industry accounting. She joined Watkins Meegan in 1995 as part of the firm’s Government Contractor and Technology Group and she has been a Member since 1999. Louise’s experience includes financial statement auditing and accounting as well as general business consulting. She serves clients in various industries including information technology, government contracting, aviation and not-for-profit organizations.
Louise currently oversees the firm’s Risk Services Group, focusing on risk assessments and compliance, including corporate governance and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. She also assists clients with the development and review of business controls and process improvements. Her experience includes helping publicly traded companies with their implementation of Sarbanes-Oxley 404 by assisting with overall risk assessment and plan development, coordinating and monitoring of team progress, and training and interfacing with external and internal auditors and audit committees. In addition, Louise teaches seminars on internal controls, corporate governance, and employee benefits and pension plan compliance.
Before joining Watkins Meegan, she was the Controller for a commercial airline. Her responsibilities covered all accounting functions including preparation of financial statements for internal and external reporting, and oversight of regulatory reporting to government agencies.
