Every year as a firm, we put a lot of thought into whether or not to send electronic holiday cards or mail holiday cards to clients, friends, and business associates.  This may seem trivial, but there are many pros and cons to both sides.  Mailed holiday cards are often considered more personal, especially in today's tech-savvy environment.  Additionally, many people still enjoy getting mail.  However, the cost can be significant.

Electronic holiday cards may end up in your spam box and may be deleted, but they are hip, environmentally green, and mostly free.  In past years, we compromised and let everyone choose or send both!  This year we decided to get creative!

Every person that receives an electronic holiday card from Watkins Meegan will have the opportunity to select a charity in which Watkins Meegan will make a donation.  We have chosen three charities, two local and one national. 

Bethesda Cares - A community organization that addresses problems of the homeless.  Located in the heart of Bethesda, this organization works hard to relocate homeless people from the streets to homes of their own.  They also provide follow-up programs.

Alternative House - Abused and Homeless Children's Refuge.

Alternative House, located in Fairfax, VA, works to keep young people safe and off the streets.  They were founded in 1972 as a shelter for runaway youths.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society - The mission of LLS is to cure blood cancers and improve the quality of life for patients and their families.

Each charity is very dear to us at Watkins Meegan!
